Branson pulled Mrs. Spinnaker’s roller bag down to the car rather than call the bellhop. Jeanie accompanied them, happily doting over his assistant who had such a frightening afternoon.

The women climbed into the back of the limo, talking as if they were long-lost friends. As far as Branson knew, they hadn’t met before this evening, and yet he couldn’t break into their conversation long enough to say goodbye. How did women do that?

Branson sat in the living room area of his hotel suite happy the evening ended much better than it had started. He loosened his tie and put his feet up on the ottoman before checking his messages. The first one came from Mrs. Alexander, although she would have had her assistant, Jacqui, key it in for her. No woman in her position would be bothered with such a simple task. The message stated she’d arranged his appointment with Phillip for 9 a.m.

Good.

He texted Chatti before going to bed and asked for transportation to MCC, arriving at nine.
